Emma Eliza Regan is an award-winning actress,〔Irish actress〕 known for her performances on the Abbey stage and in Irish Cinema as well as work in contemporary art and a columnist for various publications. She trained as a ballet dancer in her teens, getting distinction with the Royal Academy of Dance examinations, but she first came to notice for her acting in 2010 with her impressive professional début with The Abbey Theatre Dublin, Ireland's National Theatre, followed by a Critics Circle award as a lead actress in Ivan Kavanagh's film The Fading Light which won Jameson International Film Festival 'Best Irish Film'. == Education ==
Regan was educated in Kylemore Abbey and Salerno Secondary School, where she received an exceptional nine honours in her leaving certificate. She trained as a classical ballet and contemporary dancer for a year with Alan Foley, Artistic Director of Cork City Ballet, at Firkin Crane in Cork from the age of 17. She then went on to train in London at (London Theatre School ) before she toured internationally to Cape Town, Boston, Luxembourg and China with Arcana. She is a member of The Actors Studio, Factory, Dublin, a renowned dynamic creative hub where industry leaders mentor future industry leaders working alongside Lance Daly, Shimmy Marcus, John Carney and Jim Sheridan.
